grass eating boxers

cassie our boxer eat's grass and soil,and wood ,we just make sure that any product's that we use are animal friendly,
we also spoke to our vet , who say's lot's of dog's eat those kind of thing's and many more , as long as we keep an eye on them, or try and stop them from doing it on a regular basis they should be ok.

i was talking to another boxer owner and her's eats and dig's up her garden plant's etc so she found that getting a empty container eg plastic bottle and put some small pebbles in them each time sasha her dog went near the plant's etc to eat them she just shook the bottle on my last talk with her sasaha hadn't touch or dug in the garden for 3 day's as she say's trial and error i hope this will help as we are doing this with casie at the moment she's not there yet but is doing very well, and we will keep it going, you never know it might just work one day, bye for now ...jaki

I have always heard they eat grass when their belly is hurting ! I might be wrong, and im not sure WHY they do this, or how this helps their upset tummy!

Mallory, my vet told me this also.

Ikaika has a sensitive stomach and he eats grass all the time. I try and calm his stomach in other ways, but he prefers a hand full of grass. The bad part about it is that Mailani sees him do this and thinks its a treat of some kind. She grabs for it while walking.

I try a little yogurt with his kibble and that helps a bit. Now he only eats grass and then vomits about once a week or week and a half. It used to be really bad, two or three times a day. Finally the vet discovered he is sensitve :(

That's funny about Mailani....Layla does that, too! Silly girls! She attacks it when we are outside, especially the dandelions, and the onion grass! It's too cute!

My Cleo loves to eat grass! The funny thing is, Jake never eats it himself but chases her all over the yard trying to get clumps of it out of her mouth! I swear, it wouldn't matter what one was eating, the other would playfully try to get it! I just love 'em.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or OCD is very common in dogs. One symptom in dogs is obsessively eating grass. I believe Tyra has OCD. She eats grass with this great urgency. I never fertilize the backyard for this reason. At the rate they pee on the grass, it would never be green anyway.:D

Rocky does not eat the grass...his secret passion is pulling out long strips of grass then running around the yard with it waving like a flag from his mouth!
