Boxer Booster
I know there are other posts about grass eating Boxers but all the searches that I've done don't address the issue that I'm having.
OK>..Otis loves to eat grass and a few times this has resulted in his vomiting his veggie buffet. From all the searches and reading the posts, I understand that this is not necessarily a bad thing for him.
My problem is that because my lawn needs some help, ie. fertilizer, weed killer, and insect control, I'm afraid that anything that we use can harm Otis. Now I understand that if we treat the lawn to keep Otis off for a few days (or how ever many days as necessary). I am more worried that whatever treatment that we use will actually be 'in' the grass and when he eats the grass, he will have then ingested some of the treatment. Does this make sense? I know if after a good rain/soaking the chemicals would wash down into the ground but doesn't the grass absorb these chemicals and retain in the grass itself? Hypothetically, I could have treated the lawn last week and then it rained heavily but the grass itself would absorb some of the treatment. Then if Otis eats that grass, could that make him sick?
We would like to know if anyone else's Boxers eat grass and if you treat your lawn, have they ever had any affects on them and what did you use.
Does anyone use an organic lawn treatment (if it exists) for fertilizing, weed killing and insect control that would not be harmful to the Boxers and skin kids. I'm more concerned about Otis since he does actually EAT the grass. Silly Boy!
TIA for any help or advice!!!!
