Hi Jim,
Gosh, I havent seen you in a while. Hope all is well. Please post your web site address with the amazing story of Ceaser for those of us that arent familar with it and for those of us that want to read it again. There is a new forum, "Featured Rescues" that it would kind of fit into also.
Thank you. Well wishes to Ceasar!

Boomer will come sometimes when I call him he has gotten better. This is my next hurdle to clear.I have been trying to give a treat every other time I call him and he comes.Hopefully he wil come everytime soon.Good thing we are working this in the enclosed backyard.

I would like some advise on how to make my Boxer come to me everytime please. Come means nothing, unless I have a treat. I was told I need to change the word to "here" and start training from there. But then what do I do?

Quote from a book

I once read the following quote in a book about boxers, "An uninterested boxer is an immovable boxer." In other words, if they find what you're doing boring, they won't bother coming over to see you. I found this true with both Sophia and Dani.

Cheers,

Cooper comes most of the time when called. If Smokey is around though, forget it! All he is thinking is "Gotta eat the cat, gotta eat the cat, here kitty, kitty!"

Actually I think Chloe has forgotten her name altogether. She ignores me so bad that I thought maybe she had hearing problems, but if I say "treat" she will come running from the furthest end of the house.

Sounds like my boxers except I use treats for the show ring so the only way I can get their attention is to say who wants a ride and they all hoon over to my car. For my husband , who does no training, showing or feeding etc with them but takes them running, swimming and rock climbing they would walk on their heads if he asked!!kingicon I guess im just that boring old Mummy!!

Too bad I couldn't vote 3 times, once for each of the girls! :D Dubless is really good, thankfully because she always gets out of the fence. smashicon Once she was a good mile out in the field opposite me. Luckily the wind was blowing in the right direction, so when I called her, she made an immediate U-turn and came racing home. Feisty will usually come, if only to jump to see if she can get all 4 feet above my shoulders  Bula, on the other hand, will often run the opposite direction. I think she would prefer to be an outside dog than inside, except to come and get a bit of cuddling!
