Does your Boxer Bark?!?!

Layla is really vocal. She likes to bark at people or dogs outside the window or outside our fence. She barks when she wants you to play with her or if someone is at the door. She woo woo's non stop and has a kind of growly mumbling/talking that she does if she doesn't like the command that she was just given! It's all I can do to stop laughing most of the time.

Copper, my Rhodesian Ridgeback mix is the barker. I can even differiate when he is barking at the neighbors coming home (I see you, do you see me?) to strange cars in the cul-de-sac (this is my territory, this is a warning!!). If and when Sherlock barks it's serious and his hair is usually standing on end, i.e. neighbor's car being broken into, people on the street late at night (2-3am). When he barks I take it seriously and will try to see what it is. If I was lurking outside around my house and heard his bark, I don't think I would want to see what kind of dog it was coming from. It's really deep and loud!!!! And I'm really thankful he doesn't use it much.

another non-barker

Diesel's not very vocal either which I'm happy about. He doesn't bark when someone comes in or rings the door bell, but he'll be right there looking at it. He speaks when told for the most part. Every once in a while when he want to play rough.
If she's a rescue, it might be hard to say that might be some of it. My brother's rescue had things that she was really shy about when they got her, now she's your typical loving BOxer in a happy home. As I'm sure Roxy is.

Bella isnt much of a barker either. I havent heard her woo woo either. BUt boy does she whine and sigh. I think most boxers are pretty quiet dogs.

Really the only time she barks is if the doorbell rings or we ask her to speak. she will bark at strangers too.

Rufus is not much of a barker but he is big on sighs. He sighs all the time! The only time he barks is when he hears a loud noise and doesn't know what it is, when someone walks across the yard, when someone comes to the door - mostly the warning bark. Although he doesn't woo woo, I would love him too, I hear it's a riot!!

Charlie Paper isn't really all that vocal, but he does bark. I taught him to "speak" a while ago, and my bf's roommate LOVES to make him speak, so when he gets really excited he'll bark. Other than that, occasionally he'll bark at Nai'a to get her to play. Also, he tends to bark more at night when I let him outside. He'll go to the back fence (which is chain link & overlooks a pasture of cows & horses) and sometimes he'll bark. Not a lot though. He's generally pretty quiet.
