Does Size Matter???

I have read too many books and have finally decide to consult the owners...My year and half year old, Rylee, is a fawn female that weighs in at a wopping 45lbs. Everytime she meets someone new, they say "oh, what cute puppy, how old is she?" When I or my fiance tell them how old she is, they immediately say "Wow! she is small, is that normal?"

Is anyone else the proud parent of a beautiful, energetic, loving boxer that is on the small side of the scale?

We get the same comments with Saffie she is six years old and is tiny! better for me though when she'd trying to sit on my knee...... she's heavy enough!!!!

Same here with Cissy. She just turned 2 last week and weighs in at a whole 48 lbs.,plus she is really petite. Of course she thinks she is as big as her brother,and littermate, Dozer who tips the scale at a whopping 145 lbs. of solid muscle ! She is just so easy to pick up and cuddle and gets lots of lap time :)

No, I can't say that Keno is small or petite because he's 6 mos old and weighs 50-55 lbs already....but I'm sure if we had a female instead of a male it would be a different story since most females are on the petite side :) Our next boxer is going to be a female...a flashy fawn female to be exact!! ;)
(Can't wait to have a "petite" boxer !)

My girlie is very petite. She turned 2 last week and she only weighs 40 lbs and is 19" tall! I, too, get the questions about how old she is and I believe people are expecting me to say a couple months or less than a year. I love her size. In fact, that's one reason I chose her. I adopted her through a posting on a Boxer rescue site, but she was with a non-Boxer rescue. When the woman told me she was 37 lbs (her weight at 13 mos) and wasn't a chewer, I made an appointment to meet her!

Tae can sit on my lap comfortably and I can pick her up and she doesn't eat as much!! ...or poop as much, if you know what I mean!

Poohsmom--I'd love to see pics of your doggies together. That's an amazing size differenct. I guess Dozer got all the size genes when they were distributed!

My Sandy is 3.5 yrs old and only weighs 50 lbs.
Everybody always thinks she is a pup. She don't care... she still acts like one.
On the other hand, Napoleon is 11 mths and weighs 75 lbs and sometimes he acts like a little old man.

No two are alike!

Tyson is 17 mos. and weighs 51 lbs. Everyone always askes us if he done growing. I usually tell them that he should start filling out soon. I really hope that is the case. He eats a ton of food and his ribs still show. He's tall, I think the last time I measured him from floor to top of back was 22". But I love my small boxer anyway. He still lets me cradle him like a baby and rub his belly. If he were bigger I won't beable to do this!
