We opened a new bag of Chicken Soup and the kibbles look different than before!!! The old bag had darker, smaller, shinier kibbles whereas the new bag has bigger, lighter, less shiny kibbles. It doesn't appear there is anything wrong w/ the food though.

Has anyone else noticed that or am I completely insane? :)

I haven't noticed a difference. Did you get the same kind?? Puppy, adult or senior?? They may look different from each other.

We just opened a new bag (adult) this past weekend, and I didn't notice any difference in size or texture. The only appearance difference I recall from switching from puppy to adult was the size of the kibble.

Funny you should mention that....our latest bag is so much darker than the others i thought it was burned and actually emailed Diamond Pet foods and got the response that the 'flavor enhancing powder' was probably not evely distributed....at any rate we are used to the lighter color!! The dogs still eat it!!

I too noticed the last bags I got were darker in color. I wrote it off to a little too much baking time. Who knows. The dogs love it just as before.

Interesting threat. I just switched Tae to Canidae, but I'm still using the excess CS to stuff her kong. When I opened that last bag, I notices some of the pices were larger and some were different shapes. I thought it was strange, too.

You probably go the end of batch mix. they do that sometimes they can't save the left overs from one batch till the next is made because they have to date the bags as they seal them. so they take the left overs form the adult and senoir and mix them.. putting moresenoir int eh senoir bag if thats what the lable says adn vs versa for the other brand too. and becasue they do this with maybe forty bags out of twenty thousand it doesn't happen offen. dimaond is made out of st. louis and I have a friend that does osha for them. Also I wouldn't doubt that some of the other kibbles they make might get put in the mix too.. they usualy make the batches in respect to howmany bags they wan tot produce out of that bactch soemtimes over or under mixing results in shortages adn overages adn such......but thast just what i have been told...
