Does Anyone use Auto Waterers?

We currently have a bowl for the dogs and cat--it's a normal food sized bowl. I was looking at the auto waterers like this one: http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.a...0&Ntt=waterers&Nav=1&N=0&Ntt=waterers#details

Mainly because I like the idea that they can't backwash into the water, something my cat would appreciate and it looks like it fills as soon as it starts to get low. I hate the look of the ones with the big bottles--also they look hard to clean.

Got any suggestions?? The filter and thingy really doesn't matter because my dogs would drink out of a swamp if I let them--although they love the idea of drinking out of a stream of water--so that may appeal to them.

I've thought about these too but I'm not sure how much water Bentley would drink in a day because it says not to let them go dry. It would also be my luck that it would make some sort of noise that would scare the daylights out of him, as he is scared of everything!

I just found the above mentioned waterer online in the 216 oz. Since I wash and check the bowls daily, I would hope that it wouldn't run dry. It's only $35 so I think I'm gonna get it and try it.

we got one of these and it didnt work quite well, we have 3 dogs but we had it when Niko was an only dog and it was a pain.


Pros
its quiet
its not battery operated

Cons
for a boxer and their messy ways its not worthy it
the filters get clogged to easily
bowl is too small
water gets filmy from boxer slobbers


over all its a good idea for a single dog house that doesnt slobber too much

i would not reccommend it for boxer households it was more work than it was worth and then you have to completely disassemble it for cleaning.

BTW it doesnt auto fill, it just constantly filter through a charcoal filter that is suppose to last a month or 2 i cant remember but i was replacing mine every 3 weeks.
