Does Anyone Use Advantix?

My boxer had the same reaction to Advantix as DaisyPie's, the skin looked just horrible and it took 5 months to heal. I will never ever touch that stuff again. Thing is, I'm afraid to use any of them now. Also very interested in natural alternatives.

The good thing is he's on raw and doesn't seem to attract the bugs any more.

My DS and I had very severe reactions to it. It caused our skin to break out when we touched dakota, so we switched to frontline plus for now until I can find a natural remedy.. If you have cats around your dog it can be deadly for them.

We use Frontline Plus on our dogs and noticed that a couple of ticks were on our dogs last year. According to our vet, Frontline doesn't work as a repelling agent. Ticks can still get on the dogs and attach themselves but will die when they start to suck their blood (gross!). Does anyone really know how toxic this stuff is for our dogs long-term?? This really bothers me and I hate using this product but don't know what else to do since ticks and lyme disease are so prevalent in our area. We also have a lot of deer around. I too am hoping to find a natural course of treatment so will also be interested to hear what you find out from your vet. Please keep us posted!

I use it on both my dogs and they do very well on it. No reactions and no fleas, ticks or bug bites. We also feed them Solid Gold food and no health issues.
