Does anyone medicate for separation anxiety?

Poor Skully it's horrible to think that he is scared that you won't come back when you leave.
It will proberly be a lengthy process to settle him, it'll be a learning curve for you all ..

I hope it works. As it is my husband and I breaking up our vacation. We rented a condo on the beach and cannot take the dogs. So the first few days I am going out there with my mom. Then I bring my mom back and drop the dogs at her house and my husband and I will spend a few days alone. Then his mother comes out and I will head back early to get the dogs.

Thought I would update. While I haven't left the dogs home alone yet, we have been seeing a big difference in Skully. We had about a dozen people over for a cookout yesterday and he only went nuts once when people arrived. He and Arabella were so well behaved the whole day.

Also he is a bit calmer when people are out on the street. He still barks and carries on but he isn't banging against the glass and I can get his attention to redirect him and calm him down. This couldn't be better timed because they are working on the drainage ditches on our street and people are out there frequently.

Nor is he barking at the neighbors as they did work along the fence. A couple of weeks ago they were out there planning what they were going to cut back, or remove, or keep. Skully went nuts. The last two days they have been cutting and chopping and doing whatever. Skully has gone to investigate but didn't make a peep.

The only slip up was at Home Depot today. We were there getting paint and someone came in with a little dog and Skully zoned in and barked. I got him to stop barking but he really didn't want to walk away, The rest of the time he was great. I was even complimented on how well behaved he and Arabella were.
