I don't own a dobie, however a good friend of mine has a fur-family consisting of a dobie, 2 boxers and 2 bulldogs :)! All females and they all get along great! Diego loves to visit with the girls ;)! Also, one of his best buddies is a doberman, Shane. I lovingly call him his big brother - you should see these two cruise the neighborhood and the tentative looks of passersby :D! Of course, they don't live together, both have been well socialized and a great match in play. Again, I believe it depends on personality. Good luck and let us know what you decide... ~ Lisa

Mine got along GREAT!! My Boxer at the time was 3 and I adopted an abused 9 month old Warlock Dobie(that's the largest strain of dobie) (also had a boxer/chow mix, german shephard, and a Blue Dobie) and they all got along great, they also got along with 4 horses and 6 cats. If you do get another dog you just have to keep them apart when you are not around at least until you know that they will get along together when they are by themselves(no matter what breed they are)

I haven't been on Boxerworld for awhile, and I happened to notice this post. My first dog I owned as an adult was a Boxer. A couple months later I got another Boxer. One year later I got a Doberman Pinscher. I think it was a couple years later that I got another Doberman Pinscher. At the time, I had 4 dogs altgether - 2 Boxers and 2 Doberman Pinschers. I never had any problems, but that may be because I prevented them from ever happening. Strange as it may seem, my older Doberman did not want anything to do with the younger one for some time, while the Boxers accepted the younger Doberman. When my second Doberman was first brought to my house, she was already 6 months old, and she was ready to fight with the other 3 dogs, and they were all ready to fight with her. So, I had to keep her separated from the others at first. I can't give all the details of what I did, but I would bring her out with one dog at a time and carefully get them used to each other. Within a couple days, the other dogs accepted her being there. The older Doberman accpeted her being there, but didn't want anything to do with her, at least at first. The younger Doberman also accepted her new family.
At first my younger Doberman did not seem to like any humans other than me. She growled when my wife went to pet her. My 80 pound wife grabbed her and sternly said "I am going to pet you," and petted her of course. Nothing else was needed. She has turned out to be an excellent dog. When I am home, she almost always wants be near where I am.
On November 30th, 2001, my olderst Boxer died. Not too long ago, I got another Boxer puppy. This pup and my youngest Doberman (who might be around 7 years old, I lost track of how old she was) play together constantly. The other two dogs are a little older and don't play with him as much. In fact, the older Boxer is over 10 years old and rarely plays at all. My first Boxer was playful until right before he died. The two Dobermans still play together, but the older one just doesn't play as much.
The pup and the younger Doberman tend to stay close to each other, though at times there may be a dominance battle. The younger Doberman is still the dominant member of the pack, but it looks like this may be changing. Even with that, I have had no problems having Boxers and Doberman Pinschers together.

I was wandering if you ever got your dobey. We have an 8 month old dobey(male) and a 6 month old boxer (female). They get along great as long as you don't mind very rowdy play sessions. I posted a picture of my dobey in "other pets" a couple of weeks ago if you'd like to check it out. The dobey came along first and we had his ears cropped and to me it was a total pain. He absolutely hated his ears being taped and it made me feel like a very mean mom. Needless to say, when the boxer came along I opted for the floppy look which is OK for a boxer but you rarely see a dobey with floppy ears. Of course now that it's done his ears are beautiful but I don't think I'd do it again. If your boxer has cropped ears then You already know and maybe others think that cropping is no big deal. THere's also the expense to think about. But other than that, he's a treasure ----so smart and beautiful ---- he was the star of puppy kindergarten.
Anyway, I'd like to know what you all decided to do.

By the way, I also just adopted an eighteen month old terrier mix who weighs 20 pounds and both the other dogs accepted her as if she'd always been here.
