just wondering my kadie is now 14 weeks old and when ever she gets tired she jumps up on my lap and sleeps on the chair or couch to sleep and this weekend while i was downstairs she was all tired out and she ran upstairs and jumped on my chair and was sleeping when i went up LOL. i know when she gets older im going to have a huge lap dog and thats ok, but the only thing that worries me is i read the dog listener this weekend and it says to ignore them at first when you come into a room, well when ever i go into the living room she is deteremed to jump on my lab to take a nap, i guess im going to have to ignore her and keep her off the chair/couch until she is invited up.

just wondering how you guys do things around your house.

thanks,
joe

Guilty as charged LOL.... At first i was against having Porscha sleep on the bed/couch/chair...but she is just too darn cute to resist !!! When i am in the room though she will wait for permission.

Nestle allows us on HER furniture and in HER bed. lol
We actually just got a new big chair and we decided we would not let her on it. hahahahaha. It started out that she was allowed to lay on us when we were sitting in that chair, then she would be allowed to lay next to us on it. Well, yesterday, she decided it is a very comfy chair and that she would like to curl up in a ball on it herself. Gotta love those insurance/service contracts they offer with furniture now!!!!

Yep. Spud sits and sleeps where he likes...usually wherever I am so he doesn't miss out on cuddles. He's totally spoilt!:D I must admit, it's getting a bit much now that he's full grown. I think I need to grow a bigger lap!

Since all the furniture in my house belongs to my boxer and she generously allows us to use it, i would say yes, she is allowed on the furniture.
My parents though dont let her up on their furniture, and she has a whole guilt-ridden routine every time we visit them. :) doesnt work with my mom, but it just about rips my heart out! Gotta love these guys!

We fully intented to keep Basil off the furniture. Then we decided he could come up when invited and now, he gets on the furniture whenever he wants :) Oh well, he does know the "off" command and will move when asked, most of the time ;)

When we first got Greta there was to be no pets on the furniture...yeah! That lasted a long time hehe!! She does know the off command and will do it when asked, which of course isn't very often. The hurt look in her eyes when you ask her to get off of the couch is just too much for me or hubby to bear. **SPOILED BOXER**

I let her on the furniture lol. But I did read the dog listener when Cin was about 6 or so months old and I followed what she said about ignoring them until they sit for at least 5 minutes and it does work. Cin doesnt bug me when I come in. But No one else folllows my requests when I tell them to ignore her so Im the only one she does this too everyone else has to deal with her jumping all over them which is fine by me because its their own problem. :)
