I use the brush used for horses...as their hair is very close to the type of our boxers.....and when you buy them at a store for horses it is actually pretty cheap!I also use the maine and tail shampoo for Nina too....not too often ...today was the 1st time
We have a ShihTzu that needs brushing everyday so, Heidi gets brushed too! Usually, the puppy is running around not wanting to be brushed and Heidi is laying next to me so, I take the brush and brush her to show the puppy what a good dog does when it's time to get brushed! Heidi loves it all..brushing, blow-drying...tooth-brushing..anything to be pampered..she's waiting in line. I don't know about the rest of you but Heidi does shed alot..little red hairs everywhere and I think brushing them off her does help control it some.
We brush the dogs a handful of times throughout the year. We tend to brush them when their shedding is more than usual. I had been using a rubber kind of brush that really just collected loose hairs until the dogs got a hold of it. I haven't purchased a replacement but will definitely consider a horse brush.
I only brush Owen when he's shedding. I use a rubber curry comb that I bought at a horse supply store. I've heard that the Kong Zoom Groom is good too, but my pet store didn't have any :( .
YUP!! Otis gets brushed. Especially now that we have Sasha, a black Chow Chow. So, Otis gets his brushing first, because he's the top dog! Then Sasha gets her brushing. Only Sasha has A LOT more fur so it takes longer with her.
Yes, Tof gets brushed. I have a rubber curry comb type brush for her, and also another soft bristle one. She seems to like it, or at least not mind it, LOL!
