Do u have conversations with your baby?

I thought it was a prerequisite to owning a boxer. You HAVE to talk to him. If I didn't talk to Jedi he would think something was wrong.

Talking Also Teaches

I agree about talking to our babies. Not only does it help us by always having someone to talk to, it seems to make them so much smarter and in tune with our feelings. We're always amazed at how much Taz understands. Sometimes it seems like he hears us thinking and does something even before we tell him, just like he senses it.

Talking and telling them what you are doing just makes them so much smarter. I think that's one of the reasons they are always looking right in your eyes.

I'm sure my neighbors are talking about having me committed when they hear me in the yard talking to Murray. I'm out there saying now hurry up and do pee and poop so we can get back inside and cook dinner. I ask him what he thinks I should make and will tell him what we're going to watch on TV, etc. I'm always telling him how handsome he is too. We went away for the weekend a couple of weeks ago and my mother-in-law was going to watch Murray. When we dropped him off I was sitting on her living room floor telling him how much I was going to miss him and that I didn't know what I was going to do without him. I was telling him to be good for grandma and eat all his dinner so he could get a treat. Be gentle with grandma when you play. Well, my mother-in-law was hysterical laughing at me! I'm sure she considered committing me too!

I don't know know what I did before we got Max...but now, when I'm home, especially when I'm alone, all I do is chat with my Max. He's truely a best friend. Always by my side, with a wiggle or a lick depending on what I need. MyMax

I have to admit, I talk to my babies to. Afterall they think that they are human.

We always talk to Tess & Tenaia. They have a very good grasp on the English language- better than some kids I know - and they are getting pretty good at French as well! Whenever my skin kids are at their dad's, I always ask the fur kids what we (meaning me of course cuz they are on a strict diet), and we discuss what we should watch on tv. Tenaia likes to watch dog shows, and those dog trials (I guess that's what they are called) where the dogs do like a "long jump" across water (the ones we've seen were in big pools) and the one who goes furthest without touching wins. She likes those best! And they claim dogs can't "see" TV - :rolleyes:

Well Linda - won't you be MY neighbour! I'm sure mine think I'm nuts too. I have conversations with Mac and Princess allll the time in the backyard - it echos off the pool - i'm sure the whole neighbourhood thinks I'm nuts.

My sister is visiting from out of town and she told me this AM I talk to them too much. Thats what you get from a cat lover. :p :rolleyes:

When I first get home and let Mabel out - I say for her "Oh mom, I was pretty sure you weren't ever going to come home.", and then I 'll answer and say "Of course I came home - I wouldn't leave my little girl alone". And sometimes I just do a running commentary out loud of her actions. Last night I let Mabel in from the back, and she just kept walking thru the house and pushed the front door open, and went back outside, so I said in my Mabel voice "Thanks, but I think I'll just see what is out here for a minute." Or when she can't reach something she looks at me, and I'll say "Yoohoo, can you get this for me?"
Or when she gets a toy, shows me, and then runs off - she''ll say "Look what I have, and you can't have it." And of course I have to answer when thrown that kind of challenge.:p
I mostly put a voice to what I think she is thinking and that's what makes me laugh the most.

Most people think I'm bonkers because I sing! (yes that's right sing) to my babies!:o

I know it may not seem weird, but one of my pups is deaf and can't hear my bellowing anyway!:p

I sing conversations to them and sing about how good and pretty they are. I also sing to them to tell them how much I love them! I sould probally see someone about that.

I don't care what anyone thinks, I know they love it. (even if Seth can't hear me he knows!)lovicon
