I took my Dixie to petsmart the other day. Let me tell you that she is 100% pure baby. I mean, curls up in my lap and wants me to rock her. We were at petsmart, and if she came around a corner, people would back away. She is only 8 months old, so I bet she still has some growing to do. My husband thinks it is because she is brindle, and most people mistake her for a pitbull, which is a whole other post in itself, I am so tired of that.

Usually not mean, but some guy at the dog park asked me yesterday if Cosworth was a "giant pug".... A giant pug? What the heck...

Happens all the time. Most people assume she is a pit. Even the people that say "Its a boxer, right?" still ask if she bites. I think it is the muscular look that make people think that they are mean. If they only knew what babies they are

Yes but it's only the people who do not know my babies at all... usually the ones that come to my door selling things it's great because they hesitate to knock I've had a few just turn around and leave.

I just think that most people are scared of big dogs. In our case, we have three Boxers. Whenever we go and take them with us we usually take our Chihuahua, Zack, also. People are taken back by the Boxers but want to pet Zack which is a big mistake.

This happens to Doja all the time, and to me, she looks like a big sweet love bug. She still looks like a baby to me. Anyhow, I think it is the fact that they are big dogs. Most poeple who meet Doja always ask, does she bite? When I'm thinking, she might lick you to death, but thats about it..... Just in general, if were at a friends house or something, and she meets new people, they always back up, thinking shes mean. Shes a brindle as well.... My friend Jason and I were just talking about this last night. We also have a classic fawn, and poeple don't really mistake him for a pit, just that hes super huge... hes about 70lbs or so and really muscular.....

Everyone loves my babies, but IL seems to be a high boxer area. I have had a few people back away, or give me dirty looks, etc. but thats the worst of it. Never been mistaken for pits.. IL also seems to be a high pit bull area, or maybe its just me. I guess people around here can tell the difference alright.

I have been asked 3 times if Zoey is a 'Mini Boxer' and a few times people have asked if she's a Pit Bull. What can you do but correct them and let them see what a friendly playfull breed Boxers are!

   I cannot help myself but that is the funniest thing I've ever heard! But honestly, in a way it's pretty cute. I had quite the contrary thing happen yesterday. (But I posted that in another post so I won't bore everyone by repeating myself. :) ) Some people just don't get it, and try as we may, some never will. However I haven't given up trying to tell people that Charlie Paper is a boxer, and yes they do come in white, and that my bf's dog is an AmStaff, not a pit. *sigh*
