Do I need a vitamin

I am currently feeding my 11 week old puppy canidae als and my vet also recommended that I give him a vitamin. The vitamin name is hi vite or something along those lines. My question is does the puppy need it or am I just wasting money and possibly not seeing any benefit? So I just wanted to know if anyone does give their puppy vitamins if they have ever used that brand and if it is worth it? Thanks

I personally would say no, you don't need a vitamin. If you look at the ingredients in the food, it has vitamins added to it. Only so much vitamins can be absorbed by the body, the rest will be disposed of with the rest of the waste. I think it would just be another unnecessary expense IMO.
