Super Boo

Completely Boxer Crazy
Skye's an excellent swimmer, but he has HUGE feet :D and can paddle well. Boo loves the water, but will not swim. She has a big chest, long thin legs and small feet--not conducive to swimming.

Daisy loves to swim. She will go way out into the lake chasing ducks or geese and I have to yell for her to come back. Turk has only been to the lake a few times and has not gone past his chest yet. But, he is jealous of Daisy, so it won't be long.

Last summer when Sugar was just a baby, we tried her in the pool, and she sank like a rock. This year when we tried it, she initially sank but came back up and started paddling for all she was worth! It was funny! Her legs were going so fast, and when she got close to me, her furiously paddling legs gave me great big scratches and black and blue marks on my thighs as she tried to climb on me and have me hold her. She much prefers to float around the pool on a raft! She'll do that for hours! She loves to play with the hose and splash in puddles! Aren't Boxers wonderful???

Juke will go into water upto his chest and thats it he wont go any further in ,if he goes to the beach he will paddle up to his chest and only time he goes right in is when the wave crashes over him.The other week juke thought it was funny to chase some ducks in to a pond, only to realise that the he could not stop and the edge of the pond. He went right in and under the water you should have seen the look on his face when we pulled him out. When we first got juke we took him for a walk and he shot of after another dog at the other side of a little stream, only to find out it was covered in green algae and juke thought it was grass he went right in he came out smelling of rotten water.

Roscoe loves the water. We had him up at the cottage this weekend and he will get in the water and go bobbing for rocks, snails, etc. He sticks his whole head under water to get whatever he is after. It's so funny to hear him blowing bubbles out of his nose as he goes under. He also loves to swim. He will follow my sister's springer out in the water where he cant touch. His backend kind of sinks, but he doesnt care, he just paddles harder! We had Blayne up there for the first time this weekend and she likes the water, but wont go past her chest to actually swim.

I have tried teaching Mason to swim about a month ago, 7 months old. I don't know if we introduced him to it early enough or he just does not like it. It's almost like his back end is sinking as he padals w/ his big front paws to keep his head up. He looks to petrified when we get to go in the water. I don't think he'll ever be a big swimmer. He has his cousin to go swimming w/ but she's a golden retriever so she is like a fish compared to him. She knows Mason hates the water so whenever he's aggravating her she'll jump on the steps in the water b/c she knows that's her safe haven. It's so funny and so cute!!

Demps' loves it. He is 9 months old an made his first trip to the lake a few weeks ago. The in-laws driveway is also a boat launch so when we got there I just walked straight down the boat launch and into the water. Demps followed so I kept walking to deeper water. Pretty soon it was too deep for him to walk so he just started swimming towards me. After that we started throwing his frisbee out into the water and he would take a running leap off the dock to retrieve it. He probably did this for 3 hours straight.

Last weekend we took him to a friends house that has a pool. He wasn't too sure about getting in but once he fell in and figured out it was okay, you couldn't get him out. I jumped off the diving board and Demps can flying from the side and leaped into the pool. I wish y'all could have seen him. He'd jump as far out into the pool as he could and just belly flop into the water, go under about a foot and then pop up and swim after either a person or toy.

Diesel is capable of swiming, but hates it. As soon as he reaches you he tries to climb up on your shoulder and get completly out of the water, not an easy task for a 70lb dog.
