Hello:)

Tigra proves everyone wrong over and over again. she is as good a swimmer as any lab. she is fast, smooth, and very graceful. she will swim for hours and has all of her life.
she even dives and put's her head under the water.

Mac, my boy, he can swim to, but he is not as good, bless his heart for trying to keep up with Tigra thoough, Mac does swim, but he is a little slower and sometimes I have felt like I was going to have to go and help him, he is a trooper though...... so to answer your questions, yes, boxer's do and can swim and they love it. Although there bodies really aren't built for it, your right about that.
start your baby off slowly and bring another dog with you that knows how to swim, that really helps!

Annabelle went in the ocean once in Key West. She had the funniest look on her face. She didn't know how she got in the water or how to get out. She started walking backwards until she realized she was ok.

When walked downtown to the river walk on the walk platz Dallas decided upon herself to go fishing in all the fountains! No way we let her off leash to get in that river that would be a death sentence for anyone, but a boat! The current is quick and will sweep anything away! Dallas is a water loving furbaby- Thank God for that!!! Anyone showers or bathes in my house just better shut the door unless they want to shower or bathe with the dog  !!! I don't know how many times I am yelling at my 5 year old daughter to get out of that tub so I can run her some clean water and then scolding for bathing with the doggie. Showers are ok, but in the tub- YUCK! They just like to play barbies in the tub, I guess. Dallas will always have on in the mouth and my daughter one in the hand when I walk in the bathroom. They both have that guilty look- who can scream... I just laugh it off and Dallas ends up with her bath and being dried off with the towel (which is her fav)!

My Cooper loves to go in the water at the beach. In fact, it is hard to keep him out of the water. Unfortunately, he is not a very good swimmer and does go under every now and then when a wave washes him off his tippy toes. Still, this seems to have no effect on his enjoyment of getting as wet and deep into the water as possible, whilst still of course trying to maintain contact with the bottom with his toes.

My two don't like to swim, but Pumpkin's father Jay used to love to. My parents have a pool and if Jay saw anyone in a bathing suit, he would be kidney-beaning all over the place wanting to go with them to the pool. He learned to jump in and how to get out by using both the ladder and the steps. He would usually put on an additional 10-15 pounds of muscle due to swimming every summer.
