Did you see a change in your male after neutering?

Well tomorrow is the big day for Keno! He was originally scheduled for neutering in Jan, but we were able to get it moved up to tomorrow...we're very anxious to get this done because Keno has started hiking his leg in the house...anyway, just wondering, for those of you with males, if you were able to see a difference in his personality/marking of territory...I'm afraid that we've waited too long (he's 7 mos old) and now the "bad habits" have already set in...I've read that males tend to be less aggressive/dominate and are less likely to hike their leg in the house once they're neutered and I'm hoping that even tho we've waited until now to have his surgery done we're still able to see a difference in him...

BTW, we've made it very clear with our vet NO ACE !

Once they have started hiking their leg it can be hard to stop. Make sure that you thoroughly clean the area with something like Natures Miracle. The testosterone in their system supposedly takes 6 months to to go away.

It will take some training on your part to change his behavior. You will have to watch him like a hawk.

I had Napoleon neutered at about 8 months. Luckily he never hiked his leg.
He doesn't even do that outside.

He had been mistreated and was not a loving dog at all and he was trying to be dominant over me before getting it done. I can say, it has been almost 4 months and he has changed drastically. He has become very loving. His personality hasn't changed just his attitude. He has tried to dominate me only a couple of times since having the surgery.
