Hi everyone thanks for responding to my other questions. I am having problems with Achilles 9 weeks old, his stools for the last couple of days have been runny. I thought it might of been the treats we were giving him. We have two different treats we give him nature's recipe and another treat that I got from my roommate when he went home. At first I thought it was the treat that I got from my friend since it might of been for adult dogs only so I stoped feeding him that. That didn't help so I tried just give him half on the nature recipe treats and the Diarrhea was still present. Right now I am just giving him plain kibble for rewards. This problem has been going on for a couple of days now. I currently have him on Iam's puppy food. I know that isn't the greatest quality food but I plan on switching him to Canidea soon.

What do you guys think I should do?

Thanks

Start switching him too canidea slowly by mixing his kibble. I use canidea for Gauge who is now 13wks on problems.

First of all, switching food is definitely a good idea since Iams isn't very good.

However, I doubt that food allergies would be the problem, especially at only 9 weeks old. Parasites are a possibility or coccidia (read up on that here: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=2&cat=1622&articleid=727 Gotta love Google!). Anyway, I know that stress can be a factor with coccidia, especially when switching homes and what not.

I would take your little guy to the vet to get him checked out. He could have a bug, and if so, you probably would want to get it taken care of ASAP. And if he doesn't, better safe than sorry. :)

Hope this helps! You might also do a search through the forums for diarrhea. A lot of peoples' furbabies seem to have that problem at some point or another.

Coccidia (sp?) is common in pups and easliy treated but must be treated. Is his poo-sorry-mucousy looking? Pups will have very runny stool with mucous type consistency. I would definetely bring in a stool sample to your vet. Barring that cottage cheese in theh kibble can be useful for pups-as long as you only use a little and they do not have any issues with dairy. With such a little one I think I would schedule a vet check. Is he on different food or did he get sent home on Iams? Good luck
