Diamond used to have a really bad biting problem which has improved a great deal in the past month or so. The only problem now is that I am the only person she bites anymore. I don't know what to do about it, today I didn't have a shoe on and she bit my foot and wouldn't let go...she ended up getting the best of my toe. Does anyone else have a baby that is picky about who they bite or have any idea why they do this and how to stop it? Thanks guys in advance!

How old is she? If she is still a puppy, then it is very normal. Our Max did the very same thing. But he grew out of it. We learned that once we got Sumi, if you have 2 boxers, they bite each other than biting you.

She's about 3 months, a little more. I knew it was a puppy thing but I thought she would be biting others as well...? I'm hoping to get her a brother or sister soon, I just started saving up. We went to visit family last weekend and she had a blast with the other dogs, and I can tell she misses them!

Hi~

Rylie is 11 weeks now and she does the puppy nipping thing constantly. We do correct her but she temporarily looses her mind every once in a while. LOL. Everything I read and from what most tell me it's normal and they will grow out of it. She is also a licker so I've been praising her when she licks instead of biting and it has helped a little bit so far. Out of everything that's the only problem we have so I can't complain at all. I just wanted to let you know your not alone. :)

Thanks a lot, I feel much better now :D , knowing that I'm not alone anyway. My toe HURTS so bad today, she got a hold of it pretty good. Anyway, that's really the only problem I have with her also so I guess I can't complain much!
Thanks again!

Biting. OUCH!!!

I am so grateful for this thread and others like it. I have a 11 week old brindle puppy that does that very thing. He has a tendency to lick my husband more than me and I get all the teeth marks!! Sometimes he latches on so hard that I wonder if I am going to get him off. I think I have seen a little improvment in the past week after follwing some good advice from posters in another thread. I am just releived to know that this is just basically a "puppy" thing and should eventually pass and improve with proper training.

I too have to say that so far this is the only issue I am having any problems with. Potty training is progressing slowly but surely. He seems to enjoy the children, but has to play with them only in short intervals because of the biting. All in all we absolutely love Beau and are looking forward to seeing him grow with our family.
