Dexter Stinks

I thought that boxers didn't smell as bad as other dogs?

When Dexter gets hyped up he starts to have this "stink". It's not around when he is being 'normal', just when we play hard.

Do your boxers have this problem?

We give him a bath about every two weeks b/c he steps in poo every now and then and likes to roll around under the shrubs in our back yard.

I do not have this problem with Bismarck but I can tell you my other dog Athlon (French bulldog) smells bad sometimes. He has some skin allergies, that probably explains it.

I would suggest only bathing Dexter about twice a year. If he steps in poo you can rinse off his feet however using a soap on him as often as every 2 weeks could be causing a skin problem. When he rolls under the shrubs, brush him off and wipe him down with a damp towel. This may help you from having a stinky boy :p

I have a lab who stinks after I take her outside for a hard play. Our vet says that we can bath her every week once we condition her, but Ive heard others say not to bath them so much. I bath her every week and she seems fine.
