deer meat?

Does anyone know if it is o.k. to give freshly processed deer to my Dookie? We live in Kentucky and deer season is here. We live near the meat market and all the deer come here to be processed. The dog's are going crazy from the smells. Thanks.

Absolutely - raw meat and bones is a natural diet for dogs and is what they evolved eating (kibble is a 20th century invention, and arguably a poor substitute for raw natural food). And venison is great as it is usually pretty lean. Why don't you check out the BARF forum for more information on feeding raw?

PS: Raw is best, but if you were thinking of cooking the meat, then DON'T feed the bones.

Yep, it's fine. Mine have been getting lots of deer in the last week or so.

Our Lexie loves venison. She prefers is raw but will it it grilled. It is also very heathy.
