Oh Cheryl,
I am so sorry to hear that Titus is losing his battle....I had so hoped he would do well for a good while longer. I know you will take tonight to say your goodbyes and treat Titus to the most special night of his life. I know how hard this is to let go, but you must know in your heart that what you are doing is the greatest act of love and devotion you can show him and he knows that. He also knows just how much you love him and how bad you will hate to see him go but he also knows that you are so unselfishly taking the suffereing upon yourself so he will no longer have to and that takes great courage and strength on your part.
This evening, try to take some pictures of him...I know that may sound odd but I took some of H & G both shortly before they left us and although it took me several months to develope them and be able to look at them...they are now the most cherished photos I have. Try to stay strong and I know that is so much easier said than done...hug him tight and tell him we all love him. Remember he will not be alone..he will join a very very special group of cherished loved ones just like himself that will all be eagerly waiting to welcome him as he arrives at the bridge. I know you have fought long and hard to stay here with your beloved family as you don't want to leave them, as you love them as much as they love you. Just remember they are sending you on this journey, not because they do not love you..but because they love you way too much to make you stay here and suffer....and that is their greatest act of love. Don't be afraid, Titus...you are going to a better place where there is no sickness and where you will run and play like a silly pup again. When you get there, I am certain that Goliath will be there to help show you around and show you where the very best snacks and toys are kept...Godspeed sweet boy. We will miss you. djk

Cheryl, my heart aches for you! Helping Pepper to the bridge was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do! You are doing the right thing helping Titus to the bridge as hard as it is. It doesn't feel right at all--it just plain hurts!

I am very sorry to hear about Titus. I also do not look forward to some day having to post in the Rainbow Bridge section but unfortunetly these sweet creatures leave us entirely to soon. What you have decided to do for Titus is the ultimate act of love that you can give the Big Guy. Cheryl, the tears are flowing as I write this to you.I am so sorry that you and your family have to go through this terrible time. Life can be so unfair at times, and much too short. I too hope that I never have to post to the bridge but I know that unfortunately,that day will come way too soon.You are doing the most loving act for Titus,not wanting him to suffer anymore. He knows how much he is loved and will always be watching over you and your family.I'm sure that my boys, Buddy and Dusty, will also be waiting there to help him over and show him the way. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers and send lots of love to Titus.
