Excellent news!!

There is a new dog park at White Rock lake that is opening (or already has opened) this summer. I'm going to email them and ask when the official date will be.

dog park at White Rock lake?

More surprises? A park at White Rock Lake in East Dallas? As in the lake I spent high school riding around on a bicycle? Parents just moved from a house four blocks away from the lake in April. Their new house will be a few more blocks away from the lake, and hopefully will be ready in October or November.

I'll keep checking with everyone, because maybe Dani might come then too!

Dallas' first and only dog park is open! Here's directions to the dog park at White Rock Lake in East Dallas...from Central Expressway (75), take the Mockingbird Ln exit and go east. Major streets (lights) you'll pass are Greenville Ave, Skillman Rd, Abrams Rd, Hillside Dr, Williamson Rd. Shortly before the light at Buckner Blvd, there will be an exit (W. Lawther Dr, I think). Parking is available on the right, in front of the park.

A grand opening ceremony will be held Fri, 8 Jun at 1000. Attendees will be honored by the presence of former Texas Rangers pitcher, Nolan Ryan.

boxer playday

A boxer playday sounds wonderful to me! I live in North Dallas, 1 mile south of Plano. I would love info to the location of the 75 acre dog park! If everyone wants to get together me and Dax, (fawn boxer, black mask and georgeous with natural ears), we are game. Please keep us informed!

I have seen quite a few boxers running around here. When we go to Petsmart, there seems to always be another there.

The dog park in Plano is north on 75, exit McDermott and turn left. When you get to Alma turn left. The road goes to one lane and then you'll see a gravel road Tatum go left. follow the road to teh end and park.

It's called Connemara. 72 acres of beautiful land that will never be developed!

Houston Bash

Hey Guys,

Some of us were wondering if we would ever have a bash in here in Houston but since we dont have a dog park here I am thinking if you can talk to the other people in Houston who wanted to have it, I would be willing to bet they would go to Dallas for a weekend. I would go with my boyfriend and Ashy-pooh-pie. Real name (Ashton aka ASH)

Well, like Susan was saying, I'm a little booked up the next 2-3 weeks. However, you won't hurt my feelings if you can't wait. I think it would be best if everyone started throwing out some dates that would work for them - that way we could get this ball rolling and talk it up amongst our other Boxer clicks. As far as I'm concerned, I'm good to go anytime after the weekend of June 30th. July 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th all look good to me, so let the negotiations begin!

I assume we all want to try out the new leash-less park that Susan was talking about earlier. If not, I'll be more than happy to venture somewhere else. I was reading the article in this morning's newspaper about the park opening today. One of the rules kind of threw me by surprise - they said no prong/pincher collars are allowed inside the park. That's odd. Every obedience school Titus and I have been kicked out of has told me to use the pincher collar instead of the choker. Oh well, I guess you'll know how to find me - I'll be the guy being drug across the park on his back. :rolleyes:

I'm looking forward to getting together with all my fellow Boxer lovers. I will use this event as center stage for the unvailing of the single most precious female fawn puppy in the history of the Boxer breed (a little bias there). Introducing... TATUM! That's right - get ready world - it's Titus and Tatum - aka The Tater-Tot Twins! I'm sure you all will bare witness to these two angels very soon (whether you like it or not), so consider yourself warned.

Dallas Boxer Bash

I am free any July weekend except the 14th and 15th. By the way, you are right about the interesting rule about prong collars. You won't be the only one being drug on your back by a boisterous boxer. I have three that rule me. My foot is still healing from the mechanical abrasions a loop of leash burned on me.
