dagney has ringworm

just got back form the vet... truns out, dagney has ringworm!!! we are so relieved that we finally got a diagnosis and i hope that his stomach problems will get better soon... has anyone had any experience with ringworm? i'd love to hear some advice...

on another note, dagney has also been really lethargic lately. he hardly eats and is comsuming alot of water, he doesn't want to play with our other boxer (usually they are inseparable) and just mopes around and wants to sleep... i don't know if this is related to the ringworm or not...

the vet wants us to bring in a urine sample tomorrow... maybe something with kidneys or limes disease... any help on this problem???

Are you sure it's ringworm? That is a fungus that affects the skin (same fungus as athlete's foot, in fact). It is treated with topical cream - which you can get over the counter at a pharmacy, and should clear up quickly.

That wouldn't be causing stomach problems though. And wouldn't be diagnosed by a fecal exam. Are you sure your vet didn't mean round worm? That's an intestinal parasite. It is also quite treatable, but also contagious to your other dog and to people. yep, my bad, meant roundworm... we are going to have our other dog checked and both are now on interceptor... thanks for the link...
