D-Mange and Neem Oil

Hello all,

I have a 5 month old female, Layla, who was diagnosed 6 weeks ago with d-mange. She was given antibiotics and advantage multi every 2 weeks for 3 treatments. When I took her in the hair loss was mainly just around her eyes and spreading to her face with some very small patches on her body. After giving her the first treatment it got awful. The vet told me it'd get much worse before it got better. Boy, he was NOT kidding! She has very little hair left. During this I began to break out in mosquito looming bites bad and could not get a Dr to figure out what was wrong with me until I finally mentioned having a dog in the house who suffered from dmange. He told me it is very rare but some humans do have allergic reaction to the mites and/or the oil that create. After not handling Layla for a few days and getting complete reliefs I realizes I'm one of the Rare who is allergic. This has made treating her a heck of a task. I need some advice. After doing homework online I have added fish oil to her food and also raw egg periodically. I also give her plain yogart once a day. I purchased neem oil but there are mixed directions on how I should go about treating her with it. Her case is bad. There doesn't seem to be any infection, she is done with anti biotics. But I need to know the easiest, most effective way to treat her given my allergy to it. Please help!!!

I meant to add that I am inquiring about the neem treatment mainly because I have read that overuse of Advantage Multi can harm her and her third and last treatment was supposed to have been Monday. I've been giving her a bath with Epson salt soaks which has seemed to help. Today I added some neem oil to baby shampoo which was the first time I've used neem on her. I can't feasibly bathe her in it everyday though. So my question is should I give her the third asvangage treatment or discontinue it and begin neem regimjne? If so what regimin should I use?

Not sure if this will help you but this is what Ive been doing. I was my boy with Duoxo shampoo and put 1/2 cup in a container and add 3-4 drops of Neem oil and wash his entire body once a week.
Also every 3 days I put him in the tub and use 1/4 cup of Duoxo shampoo and 3-4 drops of Neem with a tablespoon of coconut oil and wash only his feet. Do not add water to the tub just wet his feet and scrub with this solution and let him set 3-5 minutes and rinse.
This has dramatically reduced his mange but it took almost 2-3 weeks to notice you also have to keep the ears clean as possible. I use Zymox ear cleanser on a cotton ball and then a few drops in each ear of the Zymox Otic for yeast infections.
Good Luck the antibiotics and crap didnt work for my boy this has worked miracles but you have to be consistent.
