Cut on his toe any hints for bandaging??

Skye cut his toe pad--minor but the constant pressure from walking around makes it bleed. He has left blood drops all over my carpet. It's really hard to bandage--any hints would be appreciated.

When Ryker cut his pad, I would put on something to clean it and sterlize it and then rap it with gauze and then the vet gave me a kind of stretchy bandage to go over it and then tape. worked well and did not come off, can't put it on really tight though.

Sammi has done the same thing. After cleaning the wound, I wrap it in gauze, then over-wrap it with Sammi's own Ace bandage. I cut down a narrow one that I had (about 10" or so), figured out where the end would meet the part wrapped around her paw, added a velcro dot set (set with a stitch or two) and we're set to go. We thought she'd rip it right off, but by miracle, she leaves it alone! It keeps the gauze on her foot, and the blood droplets off my rugs!

after you bandage it why not put a doggy bootie on it and take it off when he sleeps to let the air hit it. Just a thought.
