I have a 2yr old boxer and a 7yr old dalmation. The dalmation just had some tests taken at the vet and the vet says it's 99% chance of cushions disease. the tests should be back soon but the worry I have is that the vet said it is a very expensive disease to take care of. If the disease is cushions there must be regular tests taken to keep control of the medication so that it is not under and over dosed. I don't know what to do it's spend over my budget wich i'm more that willing to do if possible or put him to sleep which right now is not an option. I'm lost in decisions and the vet says that this could be a serious disease to take care of and very cost effective. This is my like my child what to do.:(

I am really sorry about your baby being ill. I don't have any experience with cushings, but I did a search and found some good info. The best part was that it seems to suggest that treatment, although it's long term, is mostly successful.

Here's the link: Cushing's Syndrome

All the best for your dalmation.

Sorry to hear about your Dal. I knew a couple who had a terrier mix with Cushings. She lived to be 19 years old. I remember her symptoms were "seizure-like" episodes and she wasn't diagnosed until she was 18 years old.

Don't now about the treatment, sorry :(

just like to say thank -you to all that gave my dal sum luck. The tests to cushions disease came back negative it looks like he has a compulsive behaviour disorder and the vet figures he knows what it is. what a relief. thank you all againfiestaicon
