crown on head

I was wondering if the crown on top of Dukes head will flatten out? He is 11 months and there is still a nub there. I have seen alot of dogs with pretty flat heads and I hope his will as well. If it doesnt I will still love him as if it had(after all hes my baby). I didnt know if there was a certain age around when their head stops growing? Thanks for all yalls help.

I believe that the skull itself never actually flattens out. What happens is the muscles on each side of that "nub" grow and fill in, and then the head appears to be more flat. I think those are the muscles that control the jaw (?). Since he's only 11 months, and boxers don't completely fill out until age 2-3, I would expect that his head will gradually "flatten out." Our Chewy is nearly 2, and I can still feel that little bump, but to look at him, his head looks flat enough (you can see him in our gallery if you want).

I cannot answer your post as a professional unless you were looking for computer advice however, when I was a boy my mother always told me in boxers you always look for the biggest crown on the head when the puppy is born. She called it a knowledge bump and said the bigger the bump the smarter the dog. When I picked out my boy his was huge. It has slowly flattened out now and anytime someone who knows boxers sees him they always say what a beautiful head he has. I have looked at all the pictures of Duke and he looks perfectly normal to me for his age. Remember boxers are not fully mature at 1 year I have heard it is something more like 1.5 to 2 years for full maturity. don't worry he is fine.
