Completely Boxer Crazy
I am pleased to report that since the "Barbie Homicide" there have been no other loss of lives. However, recently there has been a rash of crimes that are less offensive, but still damaging none the less.
Rocky has upgraded(downgraded?) to thievery. It may be a toy or it may be food(not in person's hand, but on table, counter, trash, etc.), but if it's loose, it is fair game. I am stymied once again by a boxer's ability to cover their tracks.
For example, Rocky likes to "find" things on the floor that no other individual can see,at least skin kids can't 'cause we all know that they'd pick it up otherwise, right? I digress, I apologize. Anyhow, Rock has this ability to get something past his gigantic floppy jowels and into his mouth. You stop what you are doing and think that you are hearing things(Hello Clarice, baa), it stops. You resume your typing on Boxerworld, only to hear the noise again. You realize that Rocky has laid(lain?) down beside you and the noise begins again. He looks at you, not a muscle moving on his body, you do a finger sweep of the mouth(you don't want him to choke) to find nothing but gums, teeth and long dog tongue in there. Hmm, maybe you are crazy? NO! There it is again. You do another sweep of the mouth, this time to find the remnants of a play coin. You reprimand the subject(Rocky) and hope for it to not happen again(there is probably a statistic about repeat offenders) Next morning, you decide to make your skin kid some breakfast. After she has eaten all of 4 bites of your hard work, you decide to throw out the rest of the eggs and toast that is left on the plate. The trash can is slightly brimming, but you decide that it can hold off until you clean up breakfast(or until dh takes it out, ha ha ha,). While you are making this monumental decision, Rocky sneaks up out of nowhere(mind you, he can only come from one direction, click clacking across the kitchen floor) and snags the piece of toast from the trash can. You decide to give chase(not running of course, what if water bowl Karma were to happen again?), sweetly calling his name. The closer you get the more determined he looks. You still give pursuit, and it only takes two more steps for the entire piece of toast that was lovingly being held in the softness of his puppy lips, to disappear into the black obyss known as boxer jowels completely. Houdini himself would have been impressed. Now this was no snatch and wolf, this was a snatch, walk, look, no jaw movement, and POOF! the toast disappears. I hope that with some rehab(NILIF) that we can overcome crime altogether in this household. Please people, do not hold your breath, you may pass out and start breathing again, but I doubt the rehabilitation will be a quick or easy process(bless his little heart, he's his own dog). I warn you all once again to be on the look out for this crime spree that's sweeping the Boxerworld. Good night, and thank goodness you've come to the end.

 The case of the missing toast appears again. One of these days these serial (or cereal) snatchers will be unarmed and caught before the crime has happened. Of course they will only give you that innocent look and you will hand them the evidence youself

Conspiracy, maybe?

Between Sarge's antics at Petsmart stealing toy babies and Rocky stealing toast..... I smell a conspiracy amongst our beautiful furbabies.... Don't they know that Santa's IS watching?????? LOL

Oh well you know what they say, Crime usually increases around the holidays! Yes it is amazing what they can do so quickly while their right there with. Erin that was a great story. I love reading your post. You should think about being a writer. You have a way with words. :)

My how I can relate to that story. Just how do they get things so quickly? Monday I was finally putting up my Christmas tree and I had taken one of those plastic stopper things out of the wall outlet. Next thing I know, there's Bella laying on the floor with it sitting there in front of her nose. She looks up at me saying "What? I don't know where it came from? It was just laying here!" Little stinker! evilicon

Man... You live in a rough neighborhood!!! Barbie murders, stealing... Whats next muggings??? You might want to watch your back. When you least expect it, you could have a boxer right hook to the face, just when you are setting down for dinner. You will wake up with no food and a black eye  Stay safe!!!

I guess that my reporting skills are somewhat lacking(notice no mention of awards). There have been muggings in between the murders and the stealing. It is heartwrenching to watch your 2 year old baby(dd) get mugged off and on(food in hand now, gone when eyes averted) and by someone younger than her, no less. Crime affects us all, young or old, human or dog(if it's a boxer, does that count as a dog or a human?) Fortunately, Rocky's crimes are becoming less violent and he is starting to welcome becoming a normal functioning member of society(That includes less sprinkling on guests- public indecency, disorderly conduct?). It is good to know that we are working down to just misdemeanors, but how bad is that to admit that a misdemeanor is good? Question? Is this the time of year to crack down on all crimes(tree tipping/redecorating, eating tree topper/testing topper's ability to adhere to tree. so on and so forth). Or is it the time to forgive and forget? Time will tell. Here's to a lower crime rate in 2008.

I wonder if you want to introduce a zero tolerance to all crime within your 4 walls,or just for youth misdemeanors, which could just result in a severe warning to the miscreant{no treats for at least 6 hrs},and reduced cuddles time{sorry, that's too severe isn't it} nonoicon
Our Christmas tree is only a small one,and so is out of reach of the possible tree stealer in our house:LOL:
