Thank you all for your kind words, it helps to have someone to talk to about this.

Bloodwork results came back and as we suspected it doesn't look good. She is most definitely in liver failure. Vet said all of her liver values were elevated... there is bilirubin in her blood... she mentioned something about her kidneys not functioning properly... and she believes that Creek is dealing with pancreatitis on top of all this. Her prognosis is poor regardless of treatment. :(

I called DH at work yesterday and relayed the news after I got off the phone with the vet. It took him until today to process everything and come to terms with what is happening and what we have to do. Reality is starting to set in for both of us. We are currently looking into what options we have as far as having someone come to the house to help Creek pass so we don't have to take her back to the vet. My mom is on her way over right now to see Creek probably for the last time :( I hope that having a visitor will lift her spirits a bit.

I'm so sorry. My heart aches for you, your husband, Caney, and Creek.

I'm so sorry. This made me cry this morning. I know we don't personally know each other, but from the time I've joined bw, ive always turned to the forum for advice and help, and many of the times during my searches, I come across your posts from long ago until recent and they have been of tremendous help and encourgment. So in many ways I feel I know your Creek. Its breaking my heart to read this bad news :( I'm so very sorry you are having to go through this tough time of making arangments for her. My heart goes out to you and your family.
