This is Creek's favorite game: get a toy, play with it for less than 5 minutes, toss it under the couch/coffee table, whine until a human comes to retrieve it.

On this particular occasion, this was the 3rd time in 20 minutes that she "lost" her ball.

I had to share with you all her crazy, pitiful whine

Ah, yes. The "Come on, I don't have THUMBS, I can't get it out" whine. I am intimately familiar with the same tone/consistancy/pitch of that whine. That is Hurricane's favorite game too.

that's the funniest thing I've ever seen... SHHHHH!~ Rocky doesn't know to do this... he holds on to his toys tight, they dont have a chance to roll under the sofa... thank goodness...

ty for sharing the video, it's priceless!!! I will show DH when he gets home, FOR SURE!!!

 I love it!!!! Creek...you are way too cute!!
BTW, love her name how did you decide on it?

Crash does this just about every night, he has us rolling all the time!!
And there's no way to quiet them, Crash could go on for EVER!!!

That's so funny. Trace's favorite game is similar- she likes to shove her toy under the couch and try to dig it out. I swear the next couch I buy will sit directly on the floor!

I love how Creek's whine turned into a yawn, too!

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Yes, I DID get her ball after a few good minutes of video. I mean, how long could YOU listen to that?! ;)

Creek is the only dog in the house (there are 4) that hasn't learned to keep her toys AWAY from the edge of the couch, yet she is the darned smartest dog I know, which leads me to believe that she does this on purpose. Honestly, I think she loves to whine just as much (if not more) than actually playing with the toy! And I definitely humor her quite often, because she gets so worked up and she sounds so funny :) But I do always end up getting her ball, because she WOULD go on for hours, literally! Caney on the other hand has an attention span of about 20 seconds.

The name Creek was my boyfriend's idea. He got Creek when he was attending college in the North Carolina mountains (we have been together 3 years; Creek is almost 7 years old now). He was quite the outdoorsman back then, and he knew that his new pup would be going everywhere with him. He said the first time he took her on a kayaking excursion, he left her on the bank with some friends while he went to "play" in his boat, but she cried until she finally went in after him! No more than 12 weeks old, she swam about 20 feet out to his boat! He fished her out and set her right in his lap with her front legs hanging over the front of the kayak, and she went along for the ride (no serious rapids, I assume). :) So she got the name "Creek Dog."

Pretty neat, huh?

Aasha

Oh that's the greatest. Aasha does the same thing. I to think he does it on purpose because as soon as I get out from under the couch he puts it right back under less then 5 minutes later. So while i'm down on the floor basically under the couch as well, lol, he has to stick his head under there as well to make sure i'm getting it. So I usually come back up with dog slopper on my face as well. :)
