CRAZY Wife wants to take on another! (Long-ish)

Ok, so I hate to do a repeat of a thread that is already going on right now (likebutta) but I have a slightly different situation here...

Barkley is just around ten months old now and is just one week into obedience classes. In other words, he is still a bit of a handful at times.
My wife and I already agreed that down the road sometime we would love to find a rescue Boxer to bring into the family.

Well, her nephew has a female Boxer the same age as Barkley. They have a newborn son at home with health concerns and unfortunately, they don't have the attention or time for the dog right now. So my wife just emailed me a few minutes ago suggesting that we offer to take her in.

I mean, this really would be our rescue, just a little bit early.
Please tell me we are crazy. Or tell me we AREN"T for that matter. All I know is that aside from the obvious hesitations...It kind of feels right. But it's also kinda scary !!!! Thanks for listening you guys!

sometimes opportunity presents itself when you least expect it. I have 3 all one year old or younger and it's not that bad. Can you handle the financial burden of the second one? If so, consider the Nephew's alternatives and what it would mean to keep the dog "in the family" so to speak. they would know she's getting the best possible home around.

Timing isn't everything, but it does play a big part in your decision. Good luck and I know you'll do what's best for you as well as he little female.

If it feels right then do it! Just think how busy they will keep eachother. It is alot of work i cant lie to ya but its worth it.

I'd go for it and that way she would stay in the family. They would get to grow up together and would be such great buds to each other. Your going to have train Barkley anyways why not add another!!!!!

The need has risen and you know her past so I would go for it. I imagine it will be a handful and you will need a good sence of humor and lots of patience. I think the love and fun you will have will off set any extra work.

Well I say go for it.... We were very scared, worried, crazy .. We pick our little guy up tonight.. Now were totally stoked to get him.. Yeah I figured it will be a little hectic at times but it'll all pay off... Good luck on the new one...

First you have to ask yourself, Do we have the time,money,and energy that another puppy would require? If you do then, for me personally raising two at the same time was no harder than raising one, so I would consider it.
