My 9 mo old pup of course does his. Sometimes inside as we have an open house where he can run around through the kitchen, living room, and foyer. The funniest is outside when he does his circles around the yard. Sometimes he runs behind the chair that is against the house and he uses the chairs to change direction also. One time he had so much momentum he launched off the chair and pushed off my picture window. Luckily no damage! He also comes flying into the house through the doggie door full speed. A few times I had the security gate on it and he crashed into it. Once he even missed the doggie door completely and crashed into the side of the house. I'm amazed he hasn't hurt himself.

I have moved furniture in the house to make a "burn lap" for them. It is funny to watch; especially when Butters is over & all 3 of them are burning through the house!
At least twice a day, I have to pick up the couch pillows & blankets from the floor. Apparently, the couch is home base or a pit stop for them when they get going. I love it!

Oh wow...I can't believe I didn't know about this (Boxer Burns). Roxy has been doing this ever since I got her and I just thought it was me being too loose on training and letting her be a nut. I have to admit she's a bit spoiled because I just can't help but smile or laugh when she does "bad" things. Roxy gets daily exercise...2 walks a day and 2 romps in the yard (where she sprints for about 15 minutes without stopping) but yet there are days when she just gets that crazy look and starts running all over the place and uses the couch to launch herself. I just try to get out of the way to avoid being run over and hope that she won't tear up the couch too bad. So funny to hear that this is a shared trait for our boxer babies. Thanks to all of you for sharing your stories.

We have 2 and they both do it. Koda not so much anymore, but Harley will be 1 on Friday and she did this last night for almost 20 minutes. We were got to laughing at her. She would fly up onto the bed but would flop in circles, like she had jumping beans in her belly. Then she would "burn" all over the living room and bedroom.

Needless to say after that and after she finally caught her breath, she went to bed early and slept really good. :D

We call it 'the zooms'. Each boxer we have lived with has done this. From early puppyhood till old age. Love that! It seems to be their way of quickly burning off the energy that seems to come upon them without warning. So much fun to watch and they always seem to feel better after expressing that energy.

Aren't they fun dogs to live with? Enjoy!

So funny. I haven't seen one in a long time but Cornelius burned this morning right after he came in. Not sooner did he step foot in the door and his leash was off, he went beserk. Got this crazy look in his eye, tucked his butt and it was on! I just moved out of the way until he was finished. :) I just love the boxer burn!!

Just a word of warning. Beware of the boxer burns!! Tyson was outside just before Christmas doing a full tilt burn and as he came around the corner of the house, he ran straight into me. Ended up buckling my knee backward. I couldn't walk on it for almost a month!!
I still love to watch the burns, but at a place where he won't run into me LOL.

Is that what they're called? I always wondered what everyone meant by the "burn". LOL! I call them the "zoomies". Jayda does them here too. We thought she was crazy but now I see all boxers do it. Learn something new all the time!
