Crate use

I was not sure what thread to post this in but this is the closest I could find. My wife during the day and I waork during the night. Does anyone else have this issue as far as leaving your boxer in the crate for several hours at a time. I do get up as well as my wife every 2 to 3 hours to take him out and use the bathroom. Is it healthy to leave him in there for such a long period of tim?
