just brought home new boxer babie and bought her a crate. she's 6 weeks and the first time she was put in there she got her teeth hung in the wire. now where scared to put her in it at all. we dont want to leave the house and put her in it. our fear is we'll come home and something bad has happened. she does'nt like the crate at all. we've only had her for 3 days and she's already controlling us. what should we do to make her realize it's a pleasant place to be. i think she thinks she's being punished. HELP!

crate training

My dog, Valkrie was the same way. First put thinkg your puppy likes like its faveret toy in the crate you can also put a little bit of food in the crate just a little not enuff of its diner but just a small snak in the crate and incurage your puppy to go in, don't force it but just let in wonder in and out and get used to the idea that this is a good thing at first don't close the door incase your puppy freacks. After he gets starts to settle in close the door for about 5 to 15 mins. watch him to make shure he doesn't get in any trouble and when he is quiet let him out and give him a treet eather food, or a toy and tell him what a good puppy he is over time extend the period of time. Soon your puppy will love his crate!

Remember never use the crate as punishment it is his safe places.

She's doing much better now!

Gretchen seems to be more comfortable in her crate now!! YEAH!!! She even walks in by herself, but does'nt stay long. The only time we have an uproar is when we're home and put her there. She still does'nt like that. She did begin using the potty in it, but since I discovered that horrible, smelly find I've taken out her blanket and she has'nt done it while she's in it. But if we leave home and put her there, when we get back and let her out she'll go back in it and pee. ( I think she's telling us she's mad at us for leaving her!) Thanks for your advice about the kibble and favorite toy. It worked great.
