Boxer Pal
I would like to know which type of crate is best for a boxer...the large plastic one's like is used on airplanes or the metal fence style. I have a medium plastic one now that was given to me as a "puppy gift" and am going to need to buy another, larger one. Thanks for the help...

I like the metal ones. You can see them from any direction and they can see you. Not to mention, I think they would be easier to clean out if need be. The one we have has a pull out bottom, but we've never had to do that with Koda.

Good luck!

I was told by a store owner that she had both metal ones and plastic for her boxers, they liked the metal ones better. I did not follow her advise and I got the plastic one, because I thought the metal one would be more like jail. I regreted that decision because Tyson hated the crate when I got it. He shook at the thought of going in to it. We have been working hard to get him to like it. I had to have a fan blowing toward it in the summer because it was very warm inside. I think you should get the metal one for more air flow and it probably feels less confining to the dog.

I use the plastic ones and Lucy does fine in it. My son also has a puppy that is going to get very big "American Bulldog", and he loves his crate. They do get use to it. It is so cute when I get ready to go to work or bed. The doggies know and they run to there crate and jump in and wait for their treats.
