Covers??

Now that the temperature is finally dropping (rather rapidly here in Atlanta i might add)....I was wondering how to keep my babies warm at night! Sasha is so skinny has such a think coat and i am afraid she is cold! Of course this is magnified by her repeated attempts to get in the bed at night!! Last winter i covered them up with blankets....but i wonder what kind...and if yours stay covered or what? Telmar, my chunky monkey, inevitably sleeps on top of his, but his coat is SO thick and he has extra pounds to insulate him! Any ideas...suggestions???

I live in Atlanta too and wondered the same thing. I tried putting a cover over Dutch who is 3 and he pushes it away. But my pup Olive cried in her crate last night and of course I let her up in bed. She got really close to me and snuggled in. This is her first winter and she is so little, just not sure what to do to keep her warm while she is in her crate.

They dont need blankets - -mine get up on the bed to sleep if the get cold as I have a heated blanket on my bed!!! Then we are ALL snugglie warm

Beasley is partial to polar fleece...I always keep an extra fleece blankie on the couch, the back seat of the car, and on my bed. He kinda controls how much coverage he wants depending on how cold he is. After we found out last winter that he's allergic to goose down, I had to change ALL my bedding - pillows, comforter, mattress pad. He LOVED to make a little nest out of my down comforter.

We've been trying to keep our two from jumping into bed in the middle of the morning and hogging up our comforters too...

So I moved their beds from a exterior wall to an interior wall next to our bed, then I plugged in our heat fan and pointed it right at them which also give me a bit more heat too. This way, everyone has been much happier and we've turned off the central heating to save on gas too.

We are the opposite right now. We insulated our attic this past year and now all the heat of our big old house stays trapped in the bedroom. It gets so hot up there and the past couple of nights Tyson has actually, willingly, climbed down from our bed onto the floor where is pillow/bed is. We figure it must be cooler down there. But before we turned the heat on full time it would get chilly and Tyson would whine until we let him under the comforter. He would be comletely covered and stay there all night. Kept us nice and warm, just don't know how he breathes down there.

It's getting cold here in Texas too.. and there is supposed to be a cold front coming our way tonight! brrrrrrr! Ping is hoping it snows LOL. For keeping warm, Ping loves to snuggle anyway so he just snuggles with us and he loves to be under the blankets so he burrows himself under their and lays right up next to me to stay warm. During winter I use flannel sheets and a down comforter, seems to do the trick for him! LOL. He always lays in front of the fire too when he's not buried in the bed sheets. :D

You guys are lucky your babies want to be under the blankets...

Ours being California boxers are so spoiled by the weather that they only like to be on top of the blankets... and we already have a king size down comforter on a queen size bed, but once they get on the bed, we completely loose our blanket!!!!

Living in the state of Minnesota, we have our fair share of cold weather. As long as you pups are in you house, I would think if your not freezin' then the dogs are not freezin'. We only put a blanket on Reno if we're out side in the winter at the fire, or when we head up north where we only have a little space heater.

I throw a fleece blanket over my two at night once they have settled down in their beds, it usually doesn't stay on all night though and they sneak up into our bed during the night !!! you might want to consider buying them a doggie coat or sweater that they could wear at night also so that it doesn't come off like the blanket
