Cosworth's new extended territory

I built a privacy fence around the backyard and just installed a dog door. The fence is about 6'6" tall and I think if he really, really, wanted to Cosworth could get over it... Although he seems to have no interest in doing so. My backyard is land-locked and I know my neighbors so I don't have to worry about passing kids (which has been a problem with some of my friends).

He knows how to use the door, but as of yet (today) doesn't seem to with out me. I intentionally let him stew a bit longer this afternoon the usual, but when I came home and took him on his walk, Wssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss for about a minute. This afternoon and evening we've been playing the door game, back and forth, in and out. Hopefully I'm getting into his little brain that he can come and go in the backyard as he pleases.

So cute, I bet he gets the idea of it soon. We always wanted to put in a doggy door. Our tabby cat is so smart, we knew he would figure it out before the dog. Darn cat spoils all the fun.

Yes! I ignored Coz for a few minutes, he got bored with me and whack-whack-thunk! he went out into the backyard to see what the neighbor's dog was barking at. :D

But dang! He barked at me to come back in. I think the deal is that the door is mostly transparent (tinted) "for training purposes" according to the box it came in. It's night, it's the backdoor, it's kind of dark back there, so he probably couldn't see though the door coming back in and wasn't comfortable "leaping before he looked"...

Close. I think he'll get it completely shortly. A few more times in-and-out and when he's sure I think it will be second nature.

He just took a bone outside. I turned on the light not right by the door, but in the next room. Hopefully that is a good enough "compromise". :D
