Cookie has surgery today

Please keep my Cookie in your thoughts. She's having surgery today to remove a malignant tumor from her right shoulder. I don't even get to see her this morning, because she's at my parents' house :( I know the vet well and trust him, but anesthesia and surgery are scary nevertheless.

Well I will definitely be saying a prayer for your Cookie today, aswell as a prayer for my Wilson who is getting neutered. Your babies surgery is more serious, but you're right, any surgery and anesthesia are scary nonetheless :(

I too hope that they get all of the tumor, and that she will be ok and heal up well!!

Thanks everyone. I called the hospital a little while ago, and they were closing the incision. The vet said that the tumor came out easily, and she'll be able to go home this afternoon.

When I saw Cookie on Sunday, I found a lump in her armpit that might be an enlarged lymph node, so I'm having them check it, too. Axillary lymph nodes shouldn't be felt unless something is wrong, so I'm a little nervous that the cancer has already spread. Hopefully we'll get the histopathology report back on the tumor before the weekend, so she can start chemotherapy next week.
