Contracts anyone?

Well, its official. My fully health tested girl is pregnant. It will be my first litter as well as hers. I'm looking for some good examples of contracts that people use when selling puppies.

All of my pet puppies will go on spay/neuter contracts with refunds back when I have proof that the procedure has been done. Also, the registration will be limited. Is it reasonable to hold the papers until the spay/neuter is complete?

They will be micro-chipped. Is it reasonable for me to be the alternate to be called in case the owner cannot be reached? I plan on sending the paperwork in/paying the fee for the microchips.

Any show puppies will go on co-ownerships. At this point I don't see a need to take future puppies back, but I want to make sure that a reasonable attempt was made at their CH, all health testing MUST be completed, and any stud chosen would have to be health tested as well.

If anyone has anything or knows where I might find something, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

I'm excited, but nervous at the same time. My girl is extremely important to me so I want to do everything I can to keep her and the puppies safe.

I will be keeping a girl out of the litter to be my next show puppy. I asked my vet if my flashy fawn girl with perfect conformation was in there and he pointed her out :>)

Absolutely, and the AKC even supports this. (They are pretty adamant about "no papers, no puppy," except in this sort of situation.)

Congratulations

I just want to congratulate you on what a wonderful job you have done. I read so many posts of people breeding without doing everything correctly and you are one of the first posts I have read where everything has been done correctly.
Anyways back to the subject at hand
My AB had a really great contract with all of the above mentioned in it (well minus the microchipping, but I am looking into that on my own).
Another great part that was in his contract was a no pound clause, she screens all her buyers, but that is actually how we got Buu, he was the pick of the litter, however the family could not keep him any more. She had a clause that stated that she bought all puppies back for whatever reason, to make sure they ended up in proper homes. Didn't know if that might be something you would want to add in there. The buyback is a guarantee on getting the dog back in your hands. If someone knows that no matter what, or what age the dog is, it can come back to the breeder and the purchase price will be redeemed, anyone would go that route.
