Constantly eating grass

Zeus does the same thing! He gets his nose down deep into the grass and pulls out what he wants! However, I have been restricting him from eating the grass within the past couple of days because the grass has been fertilized. Any idea as to how long I should wait before he can eat it again?

Tima chewing grass is never a good experience for me ...It turns into hacking,gagging and spewing not to mention the "shlingers" as I call em that I have to towel off when he comes in.YUCK .
Fortunately it's always has been a morning issue for him which I finally stopped by feeding him before I let him out to pee.
PS "shlingers" are the long seemingly unbreakable strands of drool/glue that hang from the side of his mouth.

Both of mine selectively eat grass in the backyard. They don't do it on walks though...in fact I'd never let them eat someone else's grass, since you can not know if the grass was treated with pesticides or fertilizers.

OMG! we're not alone!!

Oxford doesn't care... but Snatch! we always called him our little cow.. he looooves grass.. in the spring time, it's like a treat to him! He closes his eyes and pick the strands he likes....
Sometimes, he even lies down and keeps going...

My other dogs don't eat the grass, but Harriet does. She actually rolls around, sniffs it deeply, then munches selective pieces. I think it might be light cat-nip for dogs. Tho I have never had the misfortune of her urping it up later. Thank goodness!

Thank goodness Kobe is not the only one. He is nine months old and my first boxer and is insane about the grass right now. Besides the grass in the lawn he goes nuts over the grass clumps I've been taking out as I edge around my lawn area. He grabs the clumps and runs all over shaking it till the dirt is gone and only the grass is left then of course he eats the grass. It really is the funniest thing.
