Here's the latest from Dr. Mel and Storm Team 8.

As Beryl moves out of the picture, a front promises to arrive and mix things us. Beryl is having one major impact on our weather....it is slowing down the progress of weather systems from the west. So, the front which arrives today may have some trouble completely leaving the region during the next few days. Through the weekend, showers will be possible. Currently, the best rain chances are for this afternoon into Saturday morning. Then, another round later Saturday into Sunday morning, but it wouldn't take much to disrupt that timetable.

TODAY: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the low to mid-80s.

TONIGHT: Showers, thunderstorms likely. Lows near 70.

SATURDAY: Showers and thundershowers possible. Highs in the low to mid-80s.

SUNDAY: Showers early with some clearing. Highs in the mid-80s

The weather forcast for southbury seems to be the same as for long island......best chance for showers saturday afternoon thru sunday morning. It's tough to cancel your day because of the weather guys, considering how rarely they are correct. Looks like saturday early would be good. What's everyone thinking??? Will check posts. They are forecasting a possibility of 3 to 4 inches of rain here overnight from sat. to sunday so I would think that if southbury gets hit that hard the park will be a mess. Saturday early probably will be ok but I would hate to take Max on a 3 hour trip and be the only ones there because it was raining. Wish we were closer, would give it a shot either way. Ken, you and Bailey are almost always willing to show, you guys are officially in the "boxer buddies hall of fame". Say hello to bailey for Max. Paul, have a good time if you go sunday, say hi to Gilly for Max. Lets try and get everybody together as soon as possible, next weekend july 29th or 30th. is good with us.
This sunday all the boxer pals get an extra cookie for Maxs' birthday, pass the word.

I just saw the weather and it is supposed to start raining somewhere around 10 a.m. today. They said late tonight it should stop and begin again tomorrow afternoon. So we will see what it is like tomorrow morning. If it is not raining Bay and I will show up.
