Lenny is just over six months, I've noticed his eyes get red and irritated on occasion and drain a bit, then clear up. He's done this as long as I've had him. I figured it was probably alleries, since it comes and goes on it's own. However, it was worse this last week with some thick white drainiage so I took him to the vet. She thinks it most probably is human herpes virus, which I guess sounds worse than it is for a dog to have, just means that it will flare up with stress, but it won't make sores or cause much of a problem. I guess it's not uncommon, but I never heard of it, has anyone else? By the way he weighed 52 pounds today, that's pretty good I think, since he was pretty much a runty little fellow initially. He's still lean, not fat, so I'm thinking he'll probably get up to about seventy pounds full grown, opinions?

Max had the same thing about 2 weeks ago. The vet said it was puppy pink eye. She gave me some drops and they cleared it up in about 3 days. Max's discharge was green though.

Red Eye & Discharge

Good Afternoon,
My Rudy who is approximately (3) months just started this about 2 days ago. It is only his right eye but it is red on the interior corner and has some discharge / crust. I wipe it with a wash cloth reguarly. He has a vet appointment on Saturday and I will let you know what I hear. Just worried that the little guy is ok...Paranoid a bit I guess as well
