Greetings from Colorado Springs!
My wife and I have 4 children, 2 little human girls and two of the boxer variety.
Shelly - 2 yrs old - Brindle - Very excited to see anyone, and extremly protective of her sisters and house
Effie - 2 1/2 yrs old - Fawn - A rescue after her 1st human mommy passed away, got her in Sept. We where looking for a dog, and the local rescue after recieving my email asked if we'd consider Effie asap. They had been asked by her mommy's family to place her with a family w/ other animals and children.
Shelly and Effie already sleeping on top of each other, Effie tends to spend more time at my wifes feet, while Shelly is 100% a daddy's girl. Effie can snuggle up to anyone else in the house, but if she gets near Daddy Shelly gets in the middle.
Shelly used to really enjoy playing tug of war while we watched tv at night, or just wrestling or catch off the back porch, however now she barely ahs the energy at 6 or 7 pm to drag her sleepy self to the couch to lay on the floor. Effie really wears her out, and they've both done wonderfully to adapting to each other. We not only enjoy Effie a great deal, but becuase Shelly is now so involved all day with her buddy, she no longer needs to be crated while we leave for short periods, and people can walk in the house now without her jumping up. Two uge issues that we're glad she's worked though
