Castle Rock might be a possibility

Not sure if I can convince the wife to attend but Castle Rock might be a possibility. I'm down here in Colorado Springs and the drive might be a bear for my little baby girl (OK, she's 8 months now, guess she's not so little anymore). I'll look more into it and see if it's a possibility.

Ciao,

That would be great if you can come because Lily turns 8 months old on the 22nd so they will be the same age!

LuvdaBabies: Could you post some directions to the dog park in Castle Rock that you are talking about?

Colorado Boxer tourist

So, I just picked up this book yesterday entitled Canine Colorado and it is awesome! We should have Boxer Bashes at tourist attractions!

Here's some examples in the Colo. Springs vicinity:
1. Pikes Peak
2. Garden of the Gods (there is an 18 acre dog park there)
3. Seven Falls
4. Manitou Cliff Dwellings
5. Cripple Creek Narrow Gauge Railroad (the book says up to medium sized dogs are allowed to ride on the train and that includes retrievers so I'm sure Boxers are OK)

It's a date!

Morning is usually better (Like between 8:30-9:30)
Directions: From downtown Castle Rock take Wilcox to Plum Creek Parkway and turn east. Take a left at the third entry into Fairground Regional Park and turn right into the upper parking lot. The dog park may be accessed from the park’s main entrance; however the off-leash area is in the easternmost point of Fairgrounds Regional Park and dogs in other sections of the park must be leashed.

Opps, you already posted it! Let's plan on those times 8:30-9:30 am for arrival time on Sunday, June 26 and this dogpark! I'm sooo excited!

Yay! We're excited too! From the Springs (or anyone else coming from the South end via I-25) you'll want to take exit 181 (Wilcox) and proceed North to Plum Creek Parkway and turn east. Take a left at the third entry into Fairground Regional Park and turn right into the upper parking lot. The dog park may be accessed from the park’s main entrance; however the off-leash area is in the easternmost point of Fairgrounds Regional Park and dogs in other sections of the park must be leashed. The I-25 strech between Colorado Springs & Castle Rock is 38.6 miles away, if that helps with planning.

Here's a map of the immediate area, that I manipulated (the red star is roughly where the dog park is-third entrance for the Douglas County Fair Grounds, they are building a new pavillion at this entrance). Justice and I (and maybe DH and the kids) will be there, Justice will have on her new bright pink collar, you can't miss her, she's the Wal Mart greeter for the dog park (has to be the first sniffer). :) Email me at email removed by moderator if you need additional directions.

Gosh whatever was I thinking. Must have lost my brain somewhere...foundicon

Well the rules don't say I can't post a link to my website (it's not a competing boxer/breeder/advertising/pushing mean training device/political/chain letter/pyramid scheme/soliciation/donation requesting website, just info on tigers and pics of my kids) so go here and search for a publically posted link to an email address - maybe somewhere at the bottom of the main page with a picture of a mailbox and a hand coming out, if you need better directions or have questions that day and I don't have time to answer here on our beloved Boxerworld.

But of course if you have questions that the group can benefit from, please post it here and give plenty of time to receive an answer.

It's getting close! Hope a lot of you are planning on making it! I know we're excited!
We're ready and can't wait! In fact, Justice will be getting a work over with the zoom groom and the baby wipes.

I think we even talked DH into bringing the kids to the little kid park that's right there too. :)

a Bash of two

Well Sunday came and went. Boxer fun was had by all. We got to meet Lily and her owners (all very nice). Lily and Justice had to settle a few things first, but were best of friends by the end. Justice introduced her to her boxer budy Barkley; they both got to meet Chance for the first time too.

The girls even posed for a few pictures, just for a second though because the boxer energy wouldn't let them stay still for too long.

Looking forward to doing it again and hope more boxers can come (maybe more boys to even out the hormonal outbursts ;)).
