I would ask why crop the ears? My silver Cleo had her ears cropped. No problems with it then, 12 years ago. But with my pup 1+1/2 yrs, when I inquired with the same vet, he said they don't do that anymore. Now I can compare them and in my opinion - the normal ears provide a lot more expression. They really do a lot of things with those floppy ears.

I have a 15 week old boxer and I can not decide if I want his ears clipped or not.

15 weeks is too late to safely crop. So that option is not available. But don't worry - uncropped ears are still sweet

Trust me, cropped ears do alot also
And your Boxer still has every single "Boxer Expression" regardless of cropping or not cropping. There is really not more expression either way. Each Boxer is different regardless of ears.

I love them both and usually judge by the color of the dog. I like flashy boxers (fawn & brindles) and whites with natural ears. Plain fawns and brindles are very nice with cropped ears. This is a process that is costly and very time consuming, so maybe the most important thing to ask yourself is if you are willing to do everything involved with training the ears to stand straight.

I agree with most everyone else, 15 weeks is too old to just be starting the process and you would be best off if you left the ears natural.

We had Captain's done at 9 weeks old. I am glad we did it but I'm not sure I would do it again. He did not come out of the surgery to well and the scratching was terrible. It took about a month for his hair to grow back. Suzie's were never done. Either way Boxer's are beautiful. I guess it depends on how much you really want to go through. It is a bit of a pain. Make sure your vet knows all of the precautions to take. My regular vet does not do ears but a friend of mine talk to his vet who does his C-sections on his Frenchie's and he is good at clipping ears. So his vet did it. He sent him home all doped up on Ace, which is a BIG NO NO, and he had only been out of surgery for 4 hours. He was very lifeless not to mention I was terrified he would not come out of it. They wanted me to keep him sedated? but then all he did was sleep and I did not think that was really good for him. He was a puppy, he needed to get to be a puppy. Remember Safety First. I'm sure you will love your baby no matter what you decide and you will be happy with your decision. Good Luck!
