I have a question for those of you who live in a town. Where do you put 'it' after you have cleaned it up? We live near the wood and we dump 'it' just inside the woods away from the house so we don't smell it. But when you live in town what do you do with it? Just curious in case we move.

I have a "poopbucket"-a garbage can (with a lid!) with a plasic bag inside. When the bag gets about half full, we tie it off and throw it in the trash bin for the garbage guys to take. I know animal waste isn't allowed in with the normal trash in some places, though, so you might want to check that out if you're moving into town.

I saw this thing at a local petstore that is almost like a bucket that you put in the ground and you dump the poo in there and it makes it like compost and it just goes into the ground. I think I am going to have to invest in one because my yard looks like a mine field!!

I see that you live in Michigan. Just to let you know, I researched those too and decided not to get one. It has to be above a certain temp (40 degrees I think) for them to work.......so in Michigan, that means that about 7 months out of the year, it won't work.........doesn't seem worth the money to me.

I have one of these. If you do buy one, make sure you put close to a water source. I placed mine behind the garage. It needs to be kept wet inside and it is a pain to drag the hose around the house and behind the garage. But I still use it. If you live in a cold region, you can't use it. It has to be above a certain temp to work.

Yipes! Thanks for the great tip. I thought about getting one myself [also a mine field of a yard - I sympathize] and live in northern Wisconsin, so you just saved me some money. Oh, well...just keep throwing the poo in the garbage I guess. At least we can do that here.

Ahhh! Thanks for the advice Kaybiesmom. I just saw it in passing and didnt really look at it too closely. Yeah, you are definitely right...it would be a waste of money for most of the year :)
