Cleaning Products

Greetings all from Colorado Springs! We get our puppy next weekend and am wondering if the name brand cleaning products are really required to clean up the puppy's accidents? Can I just used a bleach based household cleaner instead?

The reason household cleaners are not recommended is because they make the carpet look/smell clean to US, but they do not truly break down the components in the urine, so dogs are still able to smell it - and if they can still smell it, they are likely to keep going to the bathroom there. The enzymatic cleaners will actually break down the uric acid and whatnot in the urine so that the stain can't be detected by your dog, either
