Boxer Booster
Hi all,
This is the sequel of cleaning lady 0 - Martin 1, which involved Martin stealing food from the lady through an elaborate guilt trip and a great performance.
It took a while for her to be convinced that Martin is not starved and therefore she should not share her food with him, but yesterday we had another incident.
In the morning i left her at home with Martin as is our usual Monday routine. Martin is very familiar with her and he just hangs around or napping while she's working around the house.
A couple of hours later, i get a phonecall at work, were the lady is crying her eyes out and screaming that there is something very very wrong, that she has locked herself out in the balcony to save her life, that there is white foam coming out of Martin's mouth, that his eyes are rolling and that he doesn't have control over his movement and that he is spinning around.
I panicked like i've never panicked before in my life, i felt scared that Martin was having a seizure of some kind, and of course i was worried about what could happen to him or what he could do to the lady.
I hurried home at an incredible speed, normally its like a ten minute walk but it took me no more than 3 minutes to get there, i unlock the door rush in, and i can hear comotion from the bedroom, i run in and what do i see...
The lady is indeed out in the balcony with her head pressed against the glass crying and shaking uncotrollably while Martin is BOXER BURNING on my bed... the white foam is indeed some drooling from all the excitement, his eyes rolling are the infamous boxer misbehaving look, and the uncontrollable spinnign is indeed some serious boxer burning.
For a moment there, i didn't know if i should cry, laugh, or yell. I can understand that for someone who is not a boxer owner it can seem a bit strange, but in my opinion she exaggerated too much and could have caused me some serious trouble!
To make a long story short, she was ironing the sheets and she placed a new warm pair on the bed, and of course Martin thought that a new, warm, fuzzy and nice smelling sheet had been lied down for him to boxer burn on, and so he proceeded to show how happy he was.
I let her in, explained what was going on, and although i am not unsympathetic as to her feelings, i believe that when you work in a house with a dog for 3 years, you should be a bit familiar with the issues and not call someone at work and tell them their dog is having a seizure which you consider life threatening for yourself and go lock yourself outside! Imagine what would happen if my workplace wasn't so near, i would probably have an car accident trying to get there ;-)
she was a bit embarassed after that, especially since Martin was fine and was trying to cuddle with her on the sheets, but i wasn't nearly as happy ;-)
